Why blog?

February 5, 2010

Prompted by the first part of Vanessa’ post here on the Ning: blogging v microblogging, I have just posted some thoughts on my own experience using blogs: Why blog?

Don’t worry, I’m not Andrew Keen in disguise, it’s a rhetorical question 🙂

I loved your post and followed some of the links. Impressive handling of toponymic identities!

BTW, the Ning posts are public: you don’t need to be a member to read them.

Neat blogs… some rendering me downright envidiosa. I like the idea of having a blog just to stash material. Before the death of geocities, I opened accounts just for file manage space. Years back I had the notion of using static pages the way I use blogs now and even set up a personal interests portal page ~ a personal e-portofolio with categories for places and other interests) now but never got to developing it further. Maybe I can fold them back into the portfolio project)

blogging … the ultimate vanity press and more
