Collaboration: bubbl.us

I’m experimenting with this mind mapping tool Letizia mentioned in the Multiliteracies YG. I’m using it to represent the content of that article in Spanish I mentioned in my previous post. It gives you an embed code, so now I want to see if it works in Ning (sometimes Ning does not allow that, don’t ask me why) Here it goes:

    Wonderful work Mary!!! I never had problems embedding codes to Ning.On the other hand I still have problems to embed many things in my WordPress blog.
I wrote a very short blog post on Mind mapping tools
target="_blank"><a href="http://jenverschoor.wordpress.com/2009/11/29/mindmapping-for-teachers/" target="_blank">http://jenverschoor.wordpress.com/2009/11/29/mindmapping-for-teachers/
I hope you continue exploring and sharing :-)
Warm regards from a very warm Buenos Aires
Jennifer

    Wow! It does work! I wonder if I’ve chosen the right setting so that others can edit it. Would you like to give it a try? Thanks!

    Nice mind mapping tool Maria … The one I love most is <a rel="nofollow" href="http://www.mywebspiration.com/" target="_blank">Webspiration: So intuitive and allows collaborative editing like Google Doc does. You can view it in diagram form or outline form. In addition, you can download it as an rtf or export it to Google Docs. here’s an <a rel="nofollow" href="http://tinyurl.com/yfq8b22" target="_blank">example (read-only). You gotta invite people to a workspace in order to collaborate together. If you wanna preview that use this temp account to access my sandbox — ID: jspaucegypt [at] gmail [dot] com / PW: summer2009

    You’re right, Vance. I do that too (chatting and networking, I mean) The point the article made was that they could -or would – do nothing beyond that. And in my experience, there’s some element of truth there. I’ve been coaxing my sts to contribute to blogs and wikis with lame results so far. However, most of them are very active in FB. So much so that I’ve started a group there. If the mountain will not come to Mahomet… :-)

Anyway, it’d be great if we could all work together on this diagram. It’s pretty basic because that was the idea. Let me see if I can change the settings so that it allows editing.
Thanks for you comment!

    Nice work. I can zoom it in and out and reposition it but it doesn’t seem I can edit it. I’m a little concerned that illiterate digital natives use Internet for chatting and networking (since that’s what I do most of the time 🙂 so I guess I’d edit that if I could :-))

    Thanks, Jennifer! I had problems embedding an "iframe" code, like the one <a rel="nofollow" href="http://www.eslvideo.com/" target="_blank">ESLvideo provides, on certain pages in Ning.
Hugs from boiling hot Rosario. When will this heat wave end? 😦

    Great mindmap, Mary! I’ve seen Bubble.us but never actually written on it. As regards embedding, there are a number of sites that have the "iframe" code, which works on neither Ning nor WordPress.

Thnaks, Hanaa for the link to Webspiration. One more tool to try out!

Just back from my holidays, with a heap to catch up with (both housework and shall we say schoolwork), plus all the wealth of evomlit. Some day …
